I am committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with UK data protection legislation.
How your information is stored
If you contact me to make an enquiry, I will collect the information you provide (such as your name, contact details and the reason for your enquiry) so that I can respond to you and discuss whether therapy is appropriate. If you do not go on to engage in therapy, your enquiry information will be securely deleted within three months of our last contact unless there is a legal or legitimate reason to retain it.
If you become a client, I will keep brief clinical notes and relevant administrative records to support the therapeutic process and to meet my professional, ethical and insurance obligations. I do not routinely keep paper records. All client records are stored electronically on a password-protected device, and appropriate measures are taken to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss or disclosure.
Your client records, including clinical notes, are retained for five years after therapy has ended, after which they will be securely and permanently deleted, unless I am legally required to retain them for longer.
Data Protection Complaints
If you have any concerns about how I collect, use or store your personal information, please contact me in the first instance by email at ciaranfebers.therapy@gmail.com. I take all data protection concerns seriously and will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, investigate the matter, keep you informed of progress where appropriate, and provide you with a response as soon as reasonably possible.
If you remain dissatisfied with my response, you have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Further information about making a complaint can be found at www.ico.org.uk.
